Cooper Discoverer S/T-C Tires Chosen for Adventure Learning Foundation’s World of Wonders Expedition
FINDLAY, OHIO, JUNE 13, 2008 – COOPER TIRE & RUBBER COMPANY (NYSE: CTB) – Adventure Learning Foundation (ALF) has selected the Cooper Discoverer S/T-C tire for use on the tenth leg of its World of Wonders (WOW) educational expedition. The WOW program teaches school-aged children about the world’s people, cultures and places through an interactive, web-based application.
“We anticipate driving 40,000 miles across Africa, Europe and Asia, and need a tire reliable enough to carry us through a variety of terrains, said Donald Greene, president of Adventure Learning Foundation. “Cooper’s previous work with us on the New Zealand and Australia legs of the program demonstrated the quality of its tires, making this an easy decision.”
The Discoverer S/T-C is Cooper’s premium all-purpose light truck traction tire that utilizes a special cut and chip resistance tread compound. A hybrid of three designs - all-terrain, high void and commercial traction - the Discoverer S/T-C is especially suited for extended off-road applications.
The mission of ALF is to enhance greater understanding of the world's different cultures by promoting global thinking and encouraging students to explore outside the traditional classroom. ALF has conducted 17 expeditions around North America and the world since its inception in 2000. Expeditions are shared in the foundation's Virtual Classroom, an interactive online format, with classrooms around the U.S. and in more than 70 different countries.
