Oliver Introduces New Specialty Application Tread
New Oliver tread meets the demands of haulers
FINDLAY, OHIO, JANUARY 8, 2007 – COOPER TIRE & RUBBER COMPANY (NYSE:CTB) and its subsidiary Oliver Rubber Company, has introduced its newest specialty application tread – the APWs. Bolstering an already bold lineup of available Oliver retreads, this new tread features a technologically advanced tread compound called Tri-Cor. Building on its reputation for quality retreads, Oliver continues to expand its product portfolio with retreads designed to meet the demands of today’s diverse conditions.
The APWs features a large aggressive tread pattern with three circumferential self-cleaning grooves that provides excellent mileage. The APWs retread is ideally suited for the steer axle, and is suitable for drive and trailer positions. It's a highly engineered tread for tough applications that encounter cornering and scrubbing. It compliments a reliable lineup of special service application treads.
The APWs is available in sizes ranging from 220mm (9) to 270mm (14). Designed for 70 percent on-road and 30 percent off-road applications, the APWs has an aggressive design and deep tread depth to help provide traction and longer tread wear. The wide squared-off solid shoulders are hallmarks of the tread which also includes stone ejection capabilities to further protect the casing and your investment. The APWs provides outstanding maneuverability and first-class handling stability to meet the needs that fleet operators want – quality at an affordable price.
The new APWs also boasts Oliver’s exclusive tread concept – VDiplus™. This feature reduces foreign material retention and decreases the usual stone drilling conditions and casing penetration issues that typically occur in specialty applications. The grooves have a depth of 26/32 (21 mm), leaving room for plenty of mileage and have been uniquely designed to expel embedded objects.
Oliver offers a range of hard-working retreads that cover most commercial applications. This ensures fleet operators keep their fleets rolling. The diverse range of fitments and compounds means there’s an Oliver retread for every job.
Oliver is continuing to change the ground rules with its new specialty application retread.
